Questions and Answers

If you have any questions regarding Missouri City Home Values or policies that contribute to economic growth, please email us to ask them

Is the Future Group a political organization and is it endorsing the current Mayor & City Council members that are up for re-election?

o The Citizens For Missouri City’s Future is a 501 (c) (3) non profit organization. As such the IRS guidelines prohibit a 501 (c) (3) organization from "directly or indirectly participating in or intervening in any political campaign on behalf of or in opposition to any candidate for public office."  The prohibition includes contributions, endorsements, and allowing a candidate to use the assets or facilities of an organization.

Accordingly, our sole purpose is to advance city policies that lead to a strong community today so we can grow tomorrow.

Does the Future Group Support the Fort Bend Tollway/Sienna Center TIRZ #2

  • Yes, the reason the Future Group supports TIRZ #2 is, in our opinion, it is one of Missouri City's most valuable and useful tools in financing public improvements for this commercial area when used with the right partner or partners.
  • TIRZ financing allows developers to front the cost of infrastructure for public improvements, and gain reimbursement from the incremental tax revenues generated in the Zone, not from Missouri City’s residents. When productive, projections of Sales Tax Revenues alone from this commercial venture are placed at $3.5 million annually, which could be a factor in reducing MC property tax rates long term.
  • The FT. Bend Tollway/Sienna Town Center project could also raise the profile and reputation of Missouri City and attract services in an area with location advantages of Fort Bend Toll Road access and distance from First Colony. Because of the homeowner tax and long term tax implications, we researched it in a longer position paper and for a map of Missouri City TIRZ #1 and #2.

Why doesn’t the HOA in Quail Valley purchase the Quail Valley golf properties when they stand to benefit the most financially by retaining the golf courses and open space?

o Prior to the City initiating their action to consider the purchase of this property the Quail Valley Fund (HOA) was involved in serious negotiations with the current owners of Quail Valley Country Club. However as the old axiom states, to be successful in a sale transaction it will require a willing buyer and seller. As found in the article published by the President of the Quail Valley Fund (HOA) there was a willing seller and buyer. However for a sales transaction to be successful it also requires a reasonable seller when establishing a sales price and terms of the proposed agreement. As noted in the referenced posting the price and terms stated by the seller were so unrealistic it forced the Quail Valley Fund HOA to terminate any negotiations with the owner of the QVCC properties.
