The breeze was delightful and the company even better.
As many kids as adults attended. . . and we all had fun.
We viewed the wonderful concept that AUTOARCH Architects and Lina and Michael so generously provided. It was a real conversation starter in how Missouri City can be untouchable, our property values improved and the quality of life enhanced to build both demand and a sense of community.
As Curtis Boler said, " This is the fastest growing area in the Houston area . . . we have an opportunity to make Missouri City a real destination . . . and a place for all to enjoy. A place to live, work and play. Think of the opportunities we have at the community center. What would something like a Dave and Buster's do? It would be fun and fit into a community oriented concept. And it certainly wouldn't negatively impact their Galleria area location. . . "
When the audience was asked how many golf widows were present . . . we saw many hands. This means that making the park a hub and place where the whole family can enjoy . . . will set Missouri City apart and provide for gaps and unfulfilled needs in our community.
Yes, with a HUB the golf course can succeed, but so can the rest of the community . . . with a safe place for all.
Jim Young's pictures that he printed and provided were a big hit . . . Some of us commented we needed to take better advantage of the trails for our waistline! If you attended the last event, but were unable to attend, the pictures will be available (what few are left) at the next event.
The group plans to meet monthly and alternate between Saturday morning and Sunday afternoon. We're organizing a big community exercise event that Amy Stanley of Grace Studios has volunteered to work with us . . . we'll be getting with her on dates.
Don't forget to vote for the Special Bond Issue. Go to the bottom of the ballot. If you can work the polls, contact Floyd Emery.
How many communities could have a park on mature and beautiful landscape?
Thank you Missouri City!!
We've opened comments . . . what would you like for activities for our Saturday morning, Sunday afternoon events? Or kinds of special parks you'd like to see?
